This immersion takes you inside the Red Fort to encounter how Shahjahan commanded a fort to be built at Delhi in 1638 and made his auspicious entry in the 24th Rabi-Ul-Awwal 1648. The walk promises you to witness the growth, zenith and decline of Mughal Empire. The date of this event is recorded in the chronogram composed by Mir Yonya Kashi.
A noble at the court of Shahjahan, Chondar Bhan composed few lines in 1648-49 to commemorate inaugurating the imperial palace-fortress, he says its towers are the resting place of the sun… Its avenues are so full of pleasures that its lane are like the roads of paradise. Yasir Anwar was born in Old Delhi and grew up seeing continuity and change around the city. He undertook his graduate degree in History Honors from Zakir Hussain College, University of Delhi and Masters in Archaeology and Heritage Management from Delhi Institute of Heritage Research and Management, Indraprastha University. He has been involved in several Museums, Art Galleries and Art and Cultural Organizations for over 6 years. He worked as Curatorial Assistant at Mehrangarh Museum, Jodhpur, Rajasthan where he carried out research on Museum collection, led guided tours and also conducted education and outreach programs. Presently he works as Research Assistant at the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts under the project "National Cultural Audiovisual Archives and undertakes guided walks around the walled city showing off its treasures.
