When Akbar ascended the throne, he decided to construct such a building, which would represent the political power of Mughals, which would become the symbol of their authority in the coming next 500 years, hence, came into existence the Humayun’s Tomb. The Humayun's tomb is very exclusive in terms of its conceptualization, its architecture and its representation of fusion of Hindostani, Iranian and Timurid Culture. In this walk we will bump into a range of stories related to Humayun's Tomb and the great Mughal emperors. Other than the main tomb, we will take tour of tombs of other personalities like, Isa khan tomb, which is a great example of Lodhi architecture, and mosques which lie in the complex itself.
Parvinder Kaur's Profile
Parvinder Kaur was born and brought up in Delhi. She did her graduation in History Honors from Dayal Singh Evening College and awarded twice for her excellence academic performance. She also holds masters degree in Medieval South Asian History from faculty of Social Sciences, Kamla Nehru College, Delhi University. It is during her graduation time only; she fell in love with her city and its great treasures. She believes that Delhi holds thousands of untold stories which need to be explored and shared.
